Climate finance, technology extremely essential to fulfil aspirations of Global South: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of climate finance and technology for fulfilling the aspirations of countries in the Global South, including India. He highlighted that these countries have a smaller role in climate change but face immense impacts. PM Modi also mentioned India's commitment to sustainable development and climate change during its G20 Presidency. He welcomed the operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund, which involves rich nations paying a damage cost to developing nations.
