Rare beating heart surgery saves man pierced by iron rod

Doctors at King George's Medical University (KGMU) have successfully carried out a rare beating heart surgery on a 54-year-old man who suffered critical injuries in an accident where an iron rod penetrated his heart. The incident occurred on March 27 when Munne Lal Sharma, an e-rickshaw driver from Sultanpur, fell from a height of about 10 feet while cleaning his roof, which collapsed.
