Volodymyr Zelensky says Maidan protests were 'first victory of today's war'

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 21 November 2023
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has linked the historic pro-democracy protests in Kyiv ten years ago to the current invasion of Ukraine by Russia. He described the demonstrations as the "first victory" in the war. The protests, known as the Revolution of Dignity, led to the ouster of President Viktor Yanukovych. Zelensky also praised Ukraine's progress towards European Union membership. However, the Kremlin dismissed the protests as a coup sponsored by foreign powers.
