Orlando Church Rings Bells for Pulse Victims on Third Anniversary of Shooting
The First Methodist Church of Orlando paid tribute to the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida, by tolling its church bells 49 times at noon on June 12.
The One Orlando Alliance, a local LGBT organization, livestreamed the annual ceremony on the three-year anniversary of the shooting.
In the video, a speaker reads each victim’s name to an audience of dozens, with the church bells sounding after eac.
The video also includes comments from a victim’s mother, a song performed by a survivor of the shooting, and a large rainbow quilt stitched with photos of the victims can be seen.
Hundreds of other churches around the world participated by ringing their bells on June 12, according to the One Orlando Alliance website.
