Rescue ops halted in Chamoli after water level rises of Rishiganga River
Rescue operations in Chamoli district have been temporarily halted after water level of Rishiganga river rose.
JCB machines, and other rescue teams were seen exiting the tunnel in Joshimath.
Several disaster management agencies including NDRF, SDRF and even ITBP are on the ground to evacuate people who were swept after flash floods were triggered following a glacier burst in Chamoli.
In the early hours of Sunday, a person fell into a 40-foot-deep borewell pipe at a Delhi water treatment plant. The National Disaster Response Force and Delhi Fire Services initiated rescue efforts, though the victim's identity remains unknown. Conflicting reports suggest the individual might be a child. Rescue teams plan to dig a parallel borewell for extraction. The situation is under close monitoring by local authorities.
