Investigation claims Frontex involved in Aegean sea migrant pushbacks
A new investigation claims that the EU's border agency, Frontex, has been involved in forcing back over 950 refugees and migrants in the Aegean sea between March 2020 and September 2021.
Hans Leijtens, the executive director of Frontex, responded on Tuesday to the findings of the European Ombudsman, who found severe shortcomings in the agency's mandate, operations and relations with member states.
