For decades, migrants hoping for a better life in Britain have crammed into overcrowded inflatable boats, and made the perilous journey across the English Channel.
Most arrive with the help of people smugglers.
Many successfully apply for asylum on arrival.
Some never make it to shore.
But the British government hopes that's all about to change.
A five-year trial is now underway which will see some asylum seekers immediately jetted off to Rwanda for processing the moment they set foot on British soil.
