In a dramatic escalation of diplomacy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has responded to Vladimir Putinâs offer for direct peace talks in Turkey â but with a firm condition: no negotiations without a full, reliable ceasefire. Citing relentless drone strikes and broken truces, Zelensky declared there would be "NO IFs OR BUTs" when it comes to peace. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has called for immediate talks to end the "bloodbath" and labeled the moment a "potentially great day" for both nations. As European leaders demand unconditional ceasefire and warn of further sanctions, tensions are peaking.

French President Emmanuel Macron is under scrutiny for allegedly trying to sway the upcoming papal conclave in favor of French cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline. Conservative Italian outlets claim Macron met with key Vatican figures to boost Avelineâs candidacy. While some label it a diplomatic power play to restore influence with the Holy See, others dismiss it as rumor. The conclave, set for May 7, will see 135 cardinals vote to elect Pope Francisâ successor. The Elysee and Catholic groups deny interference, but suspicion continues to swirl in Rome and beyond.
