Gunman Who Killed Israeli Embassy Staffers Charged With Murder; Confesses ‘Did It for Palestine’
The man accused of fatally shooting two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., has been formally charged with murder, in what authorities are calling a premeditated act of terrorism.
The suspect, 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez, was arrested shortly after the brutal attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum and confessed during police interrogation, stating, “I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza.” Prosecutors say Rodriguez targeted the victims—Israeli national Yaron Lischinsky and American citizen Sarah Milgrim—as they were leaving a private event.
The young couple, reportedly days away from getting engaged, were shot multiple times in a chilling execution-style assault captured on surveillance video.
