Streeting 'welcomes' archbishop's call to scrap two-child benefit cap
Sunday, 19 May 2024 Labour's shadow health secretary has said he "welcomes" an intervention by the Archbishop of Canterbury calling on the current government and Sir Keir Starmer to drop the two-child benefit cap.
England's health and social care watchdog requires substantial overhaul and is currently inadequate, according to Health Secretary Wes Streeting, who has promised swift measures to regain public trust. Mr Streeting was reacting to an independent review into the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the body that monitors and inspects all health and adult social care providers. Labour's Wes Streeting has hit back after a Tory minister accused Sir Keir Starmer of intending to work a "four-day week" should he become prime minister.
