Alec Baldwin's Rust shooting trial begins today - here are the key things you need to know
Monday, 8 July 2024 The high-profile trial of Hollywood star Alec Baldwin over the fatal shooting on the set of the Western film Rust is due to get under way in the US today.
Alec Baldwin's manslaughter trial is now in full swing, with his defense team and the prosecution about to deliver opening statements -- and we'll be live streaming the proceedings.
'Rust' writer-director Joel Souza has complicated thoughts on his creation, and he says he has "no relationship" with the film's star Alec Baldwin. After several years and an enormous tragedy, 'Rust' will finally be released. Back in 2021, the movie's cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died after she was accidentally shot on set by Baldwin. After much debate, Souza and the cast and crew returned to finish the film. But, quite naturally, Souza says he wishes he never made the film in the first place.
