Friday, 9 August 2019 National Security AdviserAjit Doval on Friday visited downtown Srinagar and spent over two hours in the area interacting with troops and local people. Doval, who is in J&K to review the situation after Centre scrapped Article 370, also had lunch with CRPF personnel. On Wednesday, Doval went to Shopian in south Kashmir and talked to the locals.
NSA Ajit Doval was in Kashmir to review the security situation and gauge the public mood after Article 370 was repealed. Ajit Doval interacted with Jammu and Kashmir police, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and CRPF troopers.

Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel who have recovered from coronavirus, donated plasma for treatment of COVID-19 positive patients. Speaking on it, Commandant 31st Battalion of CRPF, Deependra Rajput said, "139 CRPF jawans had tested positive for COVID-19 here. Out of 139, 138 have fully recovered and have returned to duty. Till now, three jawans have donated plasma and more are willing to do so. This is another way to serve the country." DIG of BSF, Lalit Kumar said, "We are preparing list of those who have recovered from COVID-19 and the list is with AIIMS hospital so whenever they'll feel need of plasma of BSF personnel, we will donate it to them."
Security forces busted three active terror hideouts in Yarwan area of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir on June 25. Huge cache of administrative stores including a personal diary recovered during the search operation.On the other side in Sopore, an encounter is underway between security forces and militants.

5 terrorists neutralised in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian on June 10. Briefing about the operation, Brigadier Ajay Katoch informed that terrorists killed in encounter were involved in brainwashing and coercing local youth in joining terrorist ranks. "They were involved in numerous acts, including killing of apple traders last year, threatening innocent civilians, businessmen and shopkeepers. They were also involved in brainwashing and coercing local youth in joining terrorist ranks. There were also reports of them being involved in the abduction of Police personnel and carrying out standoff attacks, grenade attacks on security forces pickets," he said.
