BJP's Manzoor Ahmad seeks HM Shah's intervention in kidnapping of party leader in Kashmir

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Jammu and Kashmir, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, has appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene and urged him to provide security to grassroots level leaders of the party after the kidnapping of BJP leader Mehraj Din Malla by terrorists in Baramulla. "Mehraj Din Malla, BJP leader and vice-president of Watergam Municipal Committee in Baramulla has been kidnapped today. I appeal Home Minister to intervene and provide security to grassroots level leaders of the party," said Manzoor Ahmad Bhat. Mehraj Din Malla, BJP leader and Vice President of Municipal Committee (MC) Watergam in Sopore area of Baramulla district was abducted on Wednesday (July 15) morning.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Vice President of Municipal Committee (MC), Mehraj Din Malla was abducted on morning of July 15. He was abducted from Watergam town in Sopore area of Baramulla district. Police have launched a search operation in the area.

Incriminating materials including huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered during Sopore encounter on July 12. While briefing about the encounter, Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, DIG of Baramulla said, "Three terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba have been killed in intervening night of July 11-12 in an encounter in Sopore. Arms and ammunition which have been seized from them shows that they were planning a big attack. Further investigation is underway".
