Bihar government recommended a CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput death case. CM Nitish Kumar said the decision was take after Rajput’s father KK Singh met state police chief. Singh had also met Kumar seeking CBI investigation in the case. A PIL has been filed before Bombay HC in this regard. The hearing, which was scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed due to heavy rains in Mumbai. On Monday, actor’s father said he had filed a complaint with Mumbai police in February. In his complaint, Singh claimed that his son’s life was in danger. The revelation came as Singh filed an FIR with Patna police where he alleged Mumbai police of inaction even after 40 days of the actor's sudden death. In a self-made video, Singh alleged the accused in actor's death case is on the loose. An FIR was registered by Bihar Police on Singh's complaint against actor Rhea Chakraborty under several sections of IPC including abetment of suicide. Bihar Police started the investigation and dispatched a team to Mumbai. So far, Bihar Police recorded statements of Sushant’s friend and creative content manager Siddharth Pithani, actor's sister, former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande, director Rumi Jaffrey, his cook, friends and doctor.

Mumbai rains: BMC Commissioner visits Peddar Road where portion of wall collapsed

On August 06, Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Iqbal Singh Chahal visited Peddar Road where a portion of a wall has collapsed in Mumbai. Due to heavy rainfall, part of retaining wall of ridge road at NS Patkar Marg collapsed. The road clearance process is underway. Speaking on the current situation of Mumbai rainfall, Commissioner Chahal said, "4 wards including Colaba, Nariman Point and Marine Drive received 300mm rainfall in 4 hrs yesterday. It was worse than 2005. It was unprecedented. Waterlogged areas were cleared soon." Intense rainfall led to sever waterlogging in parts of the city. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai's Colaba received 331.8mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. A high tide of 4.33 meter expected at 1351 hours on Aug 06. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai city and suburbs are very likely to receive few spells of moderate to heavy rainfall during next 3-4 hours accompanied with strong winds reaching 60-70 kmph. There is a possibility of thunder or lightning in some areas.

On Aug 04, BMC Addl Municipal Commissioner wrote to IGP Patna (Central) over quarantine of Bihar IPS Officer, in Mumbai. The letter reads, 'He can conduct proceedings with Maharashtra Govt's concerned officials on digital platforms like Zoom/Google Meet/Jio Meet or other such platforms.'

Facebook and Twitter have yet again acted against a video shared by accounts linked to U.S. President Donald Trump for violating their policies on coronavirus misinformation. The Trump re-election campaign’s Twitter account, @TeamTrump, was briefly banned from sending new tweets after it posted a clip of an interview where Trump can be heard saying that children are virtually immune to Covid. Facebook then removed the same clip when it was posted by President Trump. However, Trump defended his statement at a press briefing later and said that children seem to do really well against Covid as their immune system is very strong. He said that his argument is backed by every statistic that has come out on Covid. Trump has been repeatedly accused of spreading misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed over 150,000 people across the United States, including the infamous suggestion that virus victims could be injected with disinfectant.
