Ahead of Bihar polls, (Rashtriya Janata Dal) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on October 20 said that Yogi Adityanath's campaign in Bihar is no challenge for RJD, BJP is frustrated and sad as they know that they are not coming back to power. "There is no challenge, they are frustrated and sad as they know that they are not coming back to power. The whole country's power is being used against me. I am all alone and they call me inexperienced. I have been MLA, Deputy CM and LoP in these last five years which is comparable to 50 years of experience," said Yadav.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi on Saturday were on their way to meet the family of the Hathras gang-rape victim. This is the second time that the Congress leaders are attempting to meet the victim’s family. Rahul and Priyanka were stopped briefly at Delhi Noida Delhi (DND) flyway. Police reportedly informed the Congress delegation that only seven people, including Rahul and Priyanka, were allowed to meet the victim’s family. Heavy deployment of police was seen at the DND flyway on Saturday afternoon. BJP leader Smriti Irani took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi over his visit to Hathras. Irani said Rahul’s visit to Hathras is inclined more towards politics and not towards justice. Earlier on October 1, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were stopped and detained at Yamuna Expressway while they were on their way to meet the Hathras gang-rape victim’s family. Thousands gathered at Jantar Mantar on Friday to protest over Hathras gang rape. Several student organizations were seen at the protest site. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with other AAP leaders joined the protesters at Jantar Mantar. AAP had called for a protest at India Gate but the protest site was changed to Jantar Mantar after police clarified that gathering at India Gate was not allowed. Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekar Azad also joined the protesters to demand justice for the victim. Left parties were seen at Jantar Mantar too. CPI leader D Raja and CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury joined the protesters on Friday. Members of the Youth Congress dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi to protest against the case. Hathras rape case shook the entire country with people demanding justice for the victim. The 19-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and later succumbed to her injuries at a Delhi hospital. Earlier on Thursday, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, who were on their way to meet the victim’s family, were detained by the police at Yamuna Expressway. An Fir was filed against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi over march towards Hathras. The Fir was filed under pandemic law and Section 144. Congress leaders were detained as they were walking towards UP’s Hathras. Rahul and Priyanka were going to meet family of Dalit woman allegedly raped in UP. Congress leaders’ vehicles were halted at Yamuna expressway on Thursday. Rahul and Priyanka were arrested by police while they were on their way. "I want to go to Hathras alone and meet the victim’s family. Section 144 restricts public assembly, I want to go alone. Please tell me under which section are you arresting me?" Rahul said. The two leaders were taken to Buddh International Circuit guest house. Rahul and Priyanka were later released and escorted back to Delhi by UP Police. "What UP Police did to victim’s family is completely unacceptable. Police did not even allow the father to conduct daughter’s last rites," Priyanka said.

Air Quality Index (AQI) of national capital remained in poor condition on October 19 amid fear of coronavirus pandemic. Speaking to ANI, the Senior Director of Interventional Cardiology in Max Super Speciality Hospital (Patparganj) and Max Multi Speciality Centre in Noida, Dr Manoj Kumar said, "It has been hypothecated that in winter there is possibility that per day cases even can cross 2 lakh as per the study from MIT." "40% cases can increase on per day basis in India during winter season due to many factors," he added.
The air quality of national capital Delhi and its neighbouring city Noida is continuously deteriorating. According to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the Air Quality Index of Delhi (AQI) was at 283 on October 14. The neighbour city Noida has also recorded 'very poor' air quality, with overall AQI at 319. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, residents shared concerns over the deteriorating air quality. Residents of Noida said they have felt change in air quality and the pollution level is increasing every day. "We have seen changes in air quality, now we can see pollutants in air. Stubble burning is a matter of concern but it is not the only reason behind the poor air, factory pollution is also here," said a local. It is to remember that incidents of stubble burning have started in neighbour states due to which air quality has gone down. Traffic pollution, garbage burning, stubble burning are some of the reasons for air pollution.
Number of people lost their jobs during pandemic, Noida's resident Ravi being one of them. Ravi worked for a multinational company in tour and travels sector. Ravi didn't lose hope after being laid off and started a food stall in Sector 19. His food stall offers patties, sandwiches, burgers and mocktails. Ravi said, "I was working at a multinational corporation in a tour and travels sector and used to earn well. After losing job, it was very difficult to run my family so I started this stall."
