Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that his Cabinet colleagues had decided to pay for Covid-19 vaccine. The announcement came on the day that India expanded the inoculation drive to include those aged above 60 years, and those aged 45+ with comorbidities. As the second phase of vaccination drive began across the nation on March 01, Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar took his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Patna today. CM Nitish took the vaccination on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
JDU workers are celebrating Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's 70th birthday as 'Vikas Diwas' across state. Workers first made offerings at the Mahavir temple, and later distributed the prasad among the needy. Along with the prasad, JDU workers also distributed copy, pencil, milk and biscuits.
A minor girl was kidnapped and allegedly gang-raped in Bihar's Sitamarhi district a week ago. The incident occurred in Parihar area. The accused also recorded the incident and circulated it. A panchayat was held but accused didn't accept their decision. While speaking to ANI, Sitamarhi SP, Anil Kumar said, "We got the complaint just yesterday. Probe is underway."
A final year MBBS student who was reportedly vaccinated in 1st week of February, died on March 1. Speaking on it, "Death of a doctor is saddening. The government is putting in all efforts (to contain spread). Some more doctors have reportedly tested COVID positive after his death."
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said he was confident of defeating West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo in Nandigram. The BJP named Adhikari, a former minister in Banerjee's cabinet, as its candidate in the Nandigram seat in Purba Medinipur district, from where the chief minister will also contest the assembly elections. Adhikari said, “I have been given responsibilities and I will perform them dutifully. I will work to ensure BJP’s lotus blooms in Nandigram and across West Bengal.” He added, “Mamata Banerjee will lose in Nandigram by over 50,000 votes.” Adhikari had quit the TMC and resigned from the MLA post last year to join the BJP after having differences with the ruling party in the state. National School of Drama (NSD) Chairman Paresh Rawal on March 06 expressed hopes of the prestigious drama school's branch opening soon in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the region offers rich culture, and if an NSD starts functioning there, the Kashmiri youths, both boys and girls, will get a motive in their lives. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on February 20 announced an increase in wages of tea labours by Rs. 80. The total wage of each tea garden workers in Assam will now be Rs 318. CM Sarbananda Sonowal said, "It is significant and historic initiative taken by BJP-led NDA government in Assam. This is happening for the first time because during our brief period of 4.5 years, we were able to increase the wages up to Rs. 80. Congress was unable to do it because of lack of their commitment to tea labours."

Yadav said, "It is tit for tat. If you look at Nitish Kumar ji's history, be it George Fernandes, Digvijaya Singh or our party- whom did he not betray?. He came to power through back door, he has thirst for power." "The destruction of Bihar by him is for everyone to see. Nitish Kumar is a bargainer, a blackmailer. He is not a leader. He is not for people, he is for himself," Yadav added.
