Parliamentarians pay tribute to Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary

Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on January 23 paid floral tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary. Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Rajeev Shukla among other parliamentarians also remembered Bose. Netaji's bravery is well-known and he was a scholar, soldier and statesman par excellence. Born to advocate Janakinath Bose in Odisha's Cuttack on January 23, 1897, Netaji went on to play a crucial role in India's freedom movement. He is also known for establishing the Azad Hind Fauj.

On 135th Congress foundation day, AK Antony unfurl tricolour at party's headquarters

Congress General Secretary AK Antony hoisted the tricolour at the party headquarters on the occasion of 135th foundation day celebrations on December 28. In India, there is no democracy, it's in imagination not in reality, said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on December 24 after Delhi Police took party leaders into custody during their march to Rashtrapati Bhavan over farmers' agitation. He said, "There is no democracy in India. It can be in your imagination, but not in reality." Congress leaders Rahul, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury visited Rashtrapati Bhavan and submitted a memorandum, containing two crore signatures, to President Kovind, and sought his intervention.
