AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has lashed out at the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal for allegedly refusing his party permission for a public meeting. Owaisi said that while Trinamool MPs give speeches about freedom of speech and expression in Delhi, they don’t follow those ideals in West Bengal. ‘Amit Shah to hold a public rally. You allow BJP to hold public rallies. Congress and Left hold rallies. But not AIMIM. Why?’ Owaisi questioned. He also urged the election commission to transfer all officials in the area once the code of conduct comes into place as free and fair elections cannot be held till those officers are still in power in those regions. ‘Metro Man’ E Sreedharan has formally joined the BJP ahead of the assembly polls in Kerala. Sreedharan joined the party in the presence of MoS RK Singh. He earlier this month said he was joining the party to make a difference in Kerala using his experience as an administrator. Sreedharan had also said that he was open to becoming the Chief Minister of Kerala if the party wanted. His plunge into politics is being seen as a big boost for the BJP in a state where it has only a single MLA. The engineer retired as chief of the Delhi Metro in 2011.
