COVID-19: 51 persons hospitalised in total, out of which 23 deaths reported, informs Health Ministry

Health Ministry Joint Secretary Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari informed that the five highest vaccinating states today are Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Bhandari said that total 51 persons have been hospitalised till date out of which 27 have been discharged, one person is under treatment and 23 people died so far.

‘New Covid strains detected in India highly transmissible’: PGIMER Chandigarh

Director of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, Prof Jagat Ram said the new Covid-19 strains detected in the country are highly transmissible. "New Covid-19 strains detected in India are highly transmissible. We should take all possible precautions to prevent the rise in cases,” he said. The Centre on February 23 said two new Covid strains were found in Maharashtra, Kerala and Telangana. It, however, said there is no scientific evidence to suggest the new strains are linked to recent surge. The variants, namely N440K and E484K were detected in Maharashtra and Kerala. International airport in Ayodhya approved by Centre: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh government's proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya has been approved by the Centre, informed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on February 26. "UP government's proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya has been approved by the Centre. About Rs 1,000 crore have been allocated to the district administration. The central government has disbursed Rs 250 crore," said CM Yogi.

Ehtisham Khan bagged Youth Icon Award for his contribution and participation in the field of sports, social work and representing the Nation (India) at different International platforms. The Association of People of Asia's Jammu and Kashmir chapter felicitated Ehtisham Khan with the prestigious award. Ehtisham hails from Srinagar's Batamaloo and he is pursuing his bachelor's degree in engineering. He started his career in snow skiing and represented J-K, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh at the national level in snow skiing. Khan is also a bronze medalist in rock climbing, an ultra-marathon runner, a mountain biker and a founding member of the J-K Mountain Biking Association. The award was conferred in recognition of his contribution to society, sports and for representing India at different international platforms.
