Last big earthquake 500 years ago, another temblor imminent in Himalayan region, says study

Geologists have since sometime been warning of a big earthquake that is imminent in the Himalayan region. And now, a peer-reviewed study, published recently in international journal ‘Tectonophysics’ has reiterated that a ‘devastating temblor’ could be imminent in the region since the last ‘big one’ happened around 500 years ago, and a lot of tectonic energy build-up has happened in the area in the past five centuries.
