Delhi: Thieves strike jackPOT! G20 planters vanish, leave just mud in their wake

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 3 October 2023
Potted plants that were placed along the roads of Delhi for the G20 Summit have been disappearing and drying up due to theft and lack of maintenance. The Public Works Department had placed around 1.6 lakh plants to beautify the city, but many have been stolen or damaged. The department has taken back half of the pots to nurseries to prevent theft and will hire private contractors to take care of the remaining plants. The issue of theft has been a recurring problem, with other items such as fountains and decorative lights also being stolen.
