Maharashtra will issue Kunbi certificates to Marathas for OBC quota: Eknath Shinde

IndiaTimes Monday, 30 October 2023
The Justice Shinde committee in Maharashtra has found 11,530 cases in which Nizam-era proof of Kunbi antecedents of Marathas from Marathwada has been located. The committee's interim report will be accepted by the cabinet on Tuesday, and the state will instruct district officials to begin the process of giving Kunbi (OBC) certificates to those with the proof. However, activist Manoj Jarange-Patil wants blanket Kunbi certificates for all Marathas, not just for those with documentary proof.
