Upload geotagged Kashi selfies to claim Rs 5,000 subsidy: Karnataka govt
Tuesday, 7 November 2023
The Karnataka government has introduced a new rule for pilgrims seeking the Kashi pilgrimage subsidy of Rs 5,000. Instead of producing certificates, pilgrims must now take a geotagged selfie within a 5km radius of the Kashi Vishwanath temple and upload it on a designated app or portal. The selfie rule aims to simplify the process and prevent false subsidy claims. The government also provides subsidies for other pilgrimages, such as Mt Kailash Manas Sarovar and Chardham Yatra.
