Ex-IAS officer acquitted in rape case after 10 years
Thursday, 16 May 2024 Former IAS officer B B Mohanty acquitted of rape charges in Jaipur court after 10 years. The special metropolitan court for Pocso cases agreed with the defence that the complainant willingly entered a relationship with Mohanty. The complaint alleged that Mohanty raped her on Feb 17, 2013, during civil services exam preparations.
Heavy rains hit eastern Rajasthan, with lighter showers elsewhere, causing temperatures to drop by up to 4°C across the state. Dausa received the highest rainfall at 20 cm. A cyclonic circulation over north-west Uttar Pradesh is influencing the monsoon trough line, which now passes through Ganganagar and Jaipur. The Jaipur Meteorological Centre predicts continued rainfall in eastern Rajasthan and parts of Bikaner division for the next 4-5 days.
