Women voters clocked 65.8%, men 65.6% in '24 Lok Sabha polls: Election Commission

Women had a higher turnout than men in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, with 65.8% participating compared to men's 65.6%. Despite increased female voter participation, only 9.5% of the total candidates were women, with 74 elected. The electorate grew to nearly 98 crore, with 64.6 crore casting votes, 66.1% turnout recorded overall.
