'Termed temple priests as looters': FIR against Konkani writer Datta Damodar Naik for ‘hurting religious sentiments’

Canacona police filed an FIR against Konkani writer Datta Damodar Naik for allegedly hurting religious sentiments by calling temple priests 'looters'. Naik, a staunch atheist, stood by his remarks but admitted his choice of words could have been better. Complaints were also filed in Panaji and Margao over his comments.
