Maoist attack in Sukma: ASP dead, 2 cops injured; IED blast hits patrol team ahead of June 10 bandh
Monday, 9 June 2025 () In Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, a Maoist IED blast killed Additional SP Akash Rao Giripunje and severely injured two other police officers. The incident occurred near Dondra village during a pre-emptive security patrol ahead of a CPI (Maoist) Bharat Bandh. ASP Giripunje was leading the patrol to thwart potential disruptions when the pressure-activated IED detonated.
