Quota sub-categorisation ensures marginalised get their share: CJI B R Gavai
Wednesday, 11 June 2025 () CJI B R Gavai defended the Supreme Court's decision to allow sub-categorization within the Scheduled Caste quota, emphasizing its aim to ensure equitable distribution of benefits to the most marginalized. He highlighted that the ruling seeks to prevent the 'creamy layer' among SCs from monopolizing reservation benefits, allowing the most backward to access public employment and education.
