‘We made the decision together’: Two brothers marry same woman in Himachal Pradesh, revive rare Hatti tribe tradition of polyandry

A unique wedding occurred in Himachal Pradesh. Two brothers from the Hatti tribe married the same woman, Sunita Chauhan. The three-day event in Shillai village showcased the tradition of polyandry. This practice, called 'Jodidara', is legally recognized. The Hatti community values this tradition to preserve family land. While declining, polyandry remains a part of their culture.
