Jiyem Sheikh has filed a habeas corpus petition in Calcutta High Court after his son, Sk Amir, was allegedly pushed into Bangladesh by Rajasthan police. Amir, a Malda resident working in Chittor, was suspected of being an illegal immigrant despite his father's claims of Indian citizenship.
