Guatemala body ratifies presidential vote result amid new bid to thwart victor

Bernardo Arevalo's victory in Guatemala's presidential election has been ratified by the supreme electoral tribunal, despite a new attempt to suspend his party. Arevalo, a center-left candidate, won the second-round run-off in August, but his party Semilla faced threats of exclusion from the election.
