Turkish parliament commission set to study Swedish Nato bid
Tuesday, 24 October 2023 Turkey's parliament speaker will send a bill approving Sweden's Nato membership bid to the foreign affairs commission. President Tayyip Erdogan submitted the bill on Monday, which must now be approved by the commission before being ratified by the general assembly. The commission chair will decide when to discuss the bill. Hungary will also make a decision regarding the ratification of Sweden's Nato bid. Finland's membership was sealed in April 2023.
