US troops still train on weapons with known risk of brain injury

Congress has ordered the military to set safety limits and track troops' blast exposure, resulting in the creation of the Warfighter Brain Health Initiative. However, little has changed on the ground, with training continuing as before and insufficient measures to limit or track blast exposure. Troops firing the Carl Gustaf M3 rocket launcher experience memory loss, and brain injury. Concerns grew over the long-term consequences of repeated blast exposure, including permanent brain damage.
