'Sloth Fever' enters USA: Florida reports 20 travel-related cases, New York 1

Florida has reported 20 travel-related cases of sloth fever, including one in New York. US health officials monitor the situation while CDC confirms no local transmission. Over 8,000 cases this year spread by insects in countries including Brazil and Cuba. Patients are advised to rest as there is no specific treatment available. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Health Alert Network Advisory on August 16 due to increased Oropouche Virus, cause of Sloth fever, activity, warning travelers of the associated risks.
