Emery praises Arsenal star heavily linked with Juve move

SHOWS: LONDON, ENGLAND, UK (JANUARY 10, 2019) (BBC - NO USE UK) 1.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) ARSENAL MANAGER UNAI EMERY, SAYING: "In the last matches I'm very happy with him.

He asked in the last match as well in Blackpool if he's ok to help us play.

He said to me 'yes coach, I want to play', and he played with very big behaviour, very big commitment.

After, his future, is for him (to decide) with his family, with his agent.

But everytime he's here with us also, he's welcome very well.

I want his behaviour and his focus (to be) for us.

I think the same for West Ham (on) Saturday." (Q: "If and when it's confirmed, is Juventus a good move for Aaron?") "I respect a lot his decision." STORY: Arsenal manager Unai Emery said on Thursday (January 10) he was pleased with Aaron Ramsey's professionalism and performances as the Welsh midfielder appears set to move to Italian giants Juventus in the summer, according to reports in the British and Italian media.

Emery said he would respect Ramsey's decision for his career, but wanted him to keep focusing on Arsenal's remaining fixtures, beginning with a trip to West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday (January 12).

Ramsey has made more than 250 appearances since joining the Gunners from Cardiff City in 2008, but the Wales international has failed to agree on a new deal with the London club in the final year of his contract.

The reports added that while manager Unai Emery was keen to retain Ramsey, Arsenal need to keep their 200 million pound ($255.64 million) wage bill under control, leaving the club's longest serving player open to leave on a free transfer.
