A video shared by the Freeport Police Department shows the girl named Abigail taking an oath to help others and to continue to fight the "bad guys" until her cancer is gone.
"Abigail and her family feel extremely blessed with all of the love support that they are receiving," the Freeport Police Department told Reuters in an email.
"Abigail has had fun wearing her uniform out to dinner and proudly represents her role as an Honorary Police Officer with our department", the police added.
