The president of The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand, Dr. Mustafa Farouk, issued a message of solidarity on March 15 in the aftermath of the Christchurch mosque shooting.In this footage, Farouk offers his prayers to the victims and their families and urges New Zealand’s Muslim community to come together in solidarity.He urged Muslims in New Zealand to remain calm and to try to get on with their lives in the wake of the killings.When interviewed by 1 News Now, Darouk said that he was “absolutely gutted” by the shooting and added: “The next action is, first of all, for us to know what happened and who is affected and how we can support their families and those that are affected.” Credit: The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand via Storyful
