Queen tells nation – if we remain united we will overcome coronavirus
The Queen has delivered a message of hope to the nation, saying if we “remain united and resolute” in the face of the coronavirus outbreak “we will over come it”.
The head of state warned the country, in lockdown for almost two weeks and with thousands dead after contracting Covid-19, “may have more still to endure”.
But she echoed the words of Forces’ sweetheart Dame Vera Lynne’s Second World anthem, when she said “we will meet again”.
In a rare televised address to the country and Commonwealth the Queen sounded a positive note after what has been an unsettling period, saying “We will succeed – and that success will belong to every one of us.”
'Diana,' starring Jeanna de Waal as Diana, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles and Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth, was expected to open on March 31, but has now been moved to May 25, 2021, because of COVID-19.

The Queen has led the royal family in paying tribute to the British Red Crosson the eve of its 150th anniversary, describing the charity’s work as “valuedand greatly appreciated”. Since 1870, the organisation has shown “just howpowerful kindness can be” said the Prince of Wales, who added its efforts were“as essential today as it has ever been”.

Dame Vera Lynn has been honoured with a flypast in her beloved East Sussex village ahead of her funeral.Two Second World War fighter planes soared over Ditchling to remember the late singer.The aircraft made three passes over the quiet village before leaving to applause from the crowd.The adored singer, who entertained troops with morale-boosting visits to the front line during the Second World War, died aged 103 on June 18.

A Chennai artist has attempted to enter Guinness World Records. Shiva Raman painted Mahatma Gandhi's portrait using coffee powder. He painted Gandhiji's portrait covering 2,020 square feet area. Raman started painting at 6 am on August 14 and finished his work at 6 am on August 15. The artist works as a faculty member of arts at Hindustan International School in Guindy. Raman art aims at promoting patriotism on occasion of Independence Day. India celebrated nation's 74th Independence Day on August 15. This year, curtailed celebrations were planned in view of Covid pandemic. Security was tightened at borders and across the national capital. Additional cops were also deployed to maintain the law and order situation.
