Transport authorities in India design 'mobile sanitiser bus' to counter COVID-19 infection

State travel authorities in south India have designed a 'moblie sanitiser bus' to allow workers to be disinfected while on duty while maintaining the country's coronavirus lockdown.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation launched the service in Bengaluru, in a drive to sanitize essential workers and staff to protect them from COVID-19 infection.

The vehicle was converted from an old bus into a mobile sanitizer unit in which mechanised devices spray a solution on personnel walking through.

KSRTC Managing Director Shivayogi C Kalasad said, “The bus should be replicated as an initiative in other divisions.

If the lockdown is lifted in any part of the districts, the divisional controllers should be ready to operate buses and it is mandatory that all the crew should wear masks.”
