Watch: Narendra Tomar explains how farmers benefit from new agri bills

Amid a massive row over the farm bills that were passed, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that the bills will benefit farmers.

He said that laws had to be changed to achieve their vision for India’s farmers.

Tomar said that these bills give farmers the independence to sell their produce anywhere in the country and free them from the restrictions of the APMCs.

Calling the bill revolutionary, Tomar said that these bills will bring a very positive change in the life of farmers.

He added that farmers will now have the freedom to set their price and sell their produce and added that they will not have to face the trouble of making multiple visits to the APMCs.

Tomar added that farmers will also save the tax that they have to pay APMCs.

The Union Minister reiterated that the system of Minimum Support Price will remain and also allayed fears about making APMCs extinct and farmers have the freedom to choose how they want to sell their produce.
