The Indian Air Force has expressed objections against the trailer of an upcoming Netflix movie, AK vs AK. IAF is miffed at how actor Anil Kapoor 'inaccurately' wore Air Force uniform in the film. IAF also took objection to the 'inappropriate' language used in the trailer of the film. The Air Force has tweeted about the film, asking for the scenes to be removed. In the trailer, Anil is seen shooting for a film while wearing an IAF officer's costume. The actor later took to Twitter to share a video and explain his stance on the matter. In the video, Anil said it was never his or the makers' intention to hurt anyone's feelings. Anil explained how he plays a distraught actor in the film, wearing an IAF uniform.

Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh on Thursday said his force is alive to various threats in the maritime domain including from China and is fully ready to deal with them. Addressing a press conference on the eve of Navy Day, he said the Navy has a standard operating procedure in case there is any infringement in the Indian Ocean region, in a veiled reference to the Chinese challenge. Referring to the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, the Navy chief said the Indian Navy's surveillance aircraft P-8I and Heron drones are deployed in the region. The Indian Armed forces celebrated Veterans’ Day 2021. A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the newly created Victory at Sea Monument ‘Gaurav Stambh’ in Mumbai. All three service chiefs lauded the contribution of veterans and said that they are committed to protecting their interests. ‘Some of our veterans have expressed disappointment that 50 years celebration of the 1971 war is not being given importance. This year will be celebrated as 'Golden Victory Year' to mark 1971 war victory and various programmes would be organised across the country like exhibition, parade among other things,’ Army Chief general MM Naravane said. IAF Chief Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria and Navy Chief Karambir Singh also expressed gratitude to veterans for the service to the nation. Asserting that the made in India light combat aircraft Tejas is far better and advanced than the Chinese-Pakistani JF-17 fighter jets, Air Force chief RKS Bhadauria on Thursday said the latest Indian jet would be better equipped to carry out Balakot-type airstrikes. the Air Chief said the 83 indigenous fighter jets to be inducted into the force would also be equipped with homegrown weapons such as the Astra beyond visual range air to air missiles and other standoff weapons. "Indian aircraft Tejas is far better and advanced than the Chinese and Pakistan joint venture JF-17 fighter," Bhadauria said when asked to compare the Indian fighter with the JF-17. Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria on being asked if Tejas aircraft would able to carry out Balakot type airstrike if required in future said that it will have the capability of a standoff weapon which will be even beyond the capability we used that time. "The most potent BVR weapon that we have today is getting developed, and there will be other lot of air weapons which are currently on, some of the weapons are from our current inventory. And stand-off weapons that get developed by DRDO and will go into this aircraft," added IAF Chief RKS Bhadauria while speaking to ANI on January 15.
Dense fog gripped Delhi-NCR with visibility dropping to zero at most places. The IMD said that minimum temperatures are likely to fall by 2-4 °C over parts of northwest India. Flight services from Delhi were hit due to heavy fog enveloping the city-state. Meanwhile, air quality remained in 'severe' category in several parts of Delhi-NCR. Air quality index (AQI) of the national capital on Saturday morning was 441. Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Noida also recorded 'severe' air quality. This happens mainly due to low wind speed not allowing dispersal of pollutants in the air. Dense fog at isolated pockets is likely over many north Indian states during the next three days. Cold wave conditions are also likely to prevail over the northern states during the next two days.
