Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar was detained by police on October 26 after he reached Siddipet where searches were conducted at locations related to BJP's Dubbaka by-poll candidate Raghunandan Rao, and seized Rs 18.67 lakh.
BJP workers alleged that police brought money in a bag to plant it at the location.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on November 24 hit back at Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Bandi Sanjay on his remark, saying, "We will do a surgical strike in Old City once we win the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Owaisi said, "BJP leader said that if they win elections (GHMC) then they'll do surgical strike in the Old City to remove Pakistanis, Rohingyas from there. All those living here are citizens of India. I give you 24 hours to tell how many Pakistanis live here?" Earlier, Telangana BJP Pres said, "TRS and AIMIM trying to win GHMC polls with Rohingyas, Pakistani and Afghanistani voters. GHMC polls should be conducted without voters from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Rohingyas. We will do a surgical strike in Old City once we win the polls."
National President of Bharatiya Janata Party Jagat Prakash Nadda showed his satisfaction on the GHMC election results. Hailing his party workers Nadda said, "The historic result for BJP in Hyderabad GHMC elections shows people's unequivocal support towards PM Modi's development and governance model. I want to thank the people of Hyderabad." "The people of Hyderabad have made it clear what will be the results of the Telangana assembly elections (2023). I can say with confidence that people of Telangana have decided to say goodbye to the corrupt KCR government," BJP president added.
BJP leader Mukul Roy on December 4 claimed that Suvendu Adhikari who has tendered resignation from the party, is expected to join BJP. "Suvendu Adhikari has already resigned. Only time will speak now. In a day or two, the entire dilemma will be over. I expect that he will join the BJP," said Mukul Roy.
As early trends showed BJP leading in recently-concluded Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, party MP D Arvind said that it is clear that people want change. "The transformation has started in the state of Telangana. You have seen Lok Sabha election results then Dubbaka by-election and now GHMC. This is expected. This is a paper-ballot elections so let us wait till the evening, but it is clear message to TRS that Telangana people and GHMC people have given that they want a change here. People have decided to vote for a change and decided that Mr Modi's leadership and a non-corrupt government is required in the state of Telangana," said BJP MP D Arvind. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections were held on December 01, and the counting of votes is underway.
Ahead Hyderabad local body elections, which are going to be held on December 01, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar on November 22 said what happened in Dubbaka bypoll, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to repeat it in Hyderabad. He said, "What happened in Dubbaka bypoll, BJP is going to repeat it in Hyderabad. We have to decide whether we want a mayor of BJP or AIMIM. Voting for Congress, TRS means voting for AIMIM, and voting for AIMIM means voting for division." "The assets of CM K Chandrashekhar Rao and his friends are increasing but the asset of Telangana is decreasing. BJP has come up with an 'aarop patra' which features 60 failures of the state government during the last 6 years," he added.
A clash erupted between Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders at a hotel in Telangana's Siddipet. TRS MLA Chanti Kranthi was staying here and BJP leaders claimed that he was distributing money to Dubbak constituency voters to vote for their party. The incident happened on Nov 02, a day before Dubbak by-polls.
BJP workers created a ruckus after police conducted searches at party candidate Raghunandan Rao's related location in Telangana's Siddipet on October 26, and seized Rs 18.67 lakh. Siddipet Police said the BJP workers snatched over Rs 12 lakh from the seized cash and ran away. Raghunandan Rao is contesting the by-poll from Dubbaka assembly seat. Dubbak by-poll is scheduled on November 03.
