'Message to world': Defence minister on HAL's new fighter jet production unit

After inaugurating a new production line at a Hindustan Aeronautics Limited facility in Bengaluru, defence minister Rajnath Singh said that the event was a message to the world about India's commitment to becoming 'atmanirbhar' or self-reliant.

The new production line's inauguration comes in the backdrop of HAL getting India's largest indigenous defence deal - Rs 48,000 crore for 83 LCA Tejas Mark1A fighter jets.
