Indian Railways is all set to run 'Oxygen Express' trains over the next few days.

The trains will transport liquid medical oxygen and oxygen cylinders across the country.

A green corridor is being created for fast movement of Oxygen Express trains.

Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said, “Except for nine sectors, supply of oxygen for industrial purposes by manufacturers and suppliers will be prohibited from April 22 as a temporary measure.

This has been done to ensure adequate supply of oxygen to hospitals.” He also said that a green corridor is being created for fast movement of Oxygen Express Trains to facilities smooth transport of oxygen to states amid Covid cases surge.
