Russia Bans ‘LGBT’ Movement

Russia Bans , ‘LGBT’ Movement.

On Nov.

30, Russia's Supreme Court deemed the "international LGBT public movement" to be an extremist organization, BBC News reports.

LGBT activities were banned throughout Russia.

The closed-door hearing did not host anyone from "the defendant's side," the court said.

Vitaly Milonov, an MP from the ruling party, United Russia, said that the ban was "not about sexual minorities or the private life of individuals.".

It's more about the political agenda proclaimed by this LGBT international movement.

They have their own tasks, their own goals.

They act as a political force, a political structure and the goals of this structure contravene the Russian Constitution, Vitaly Milonov, an MP from the ruling party, United Russia, via BBC News.

The BBC's Steve Rosenberg responded by saying, "But there isn't a movement called the 'International LGBT public movement.'

How can you ban something that doesn't exist?".

Oh, it's easy.

We can ban any activities from LGBT international organizations here in Russia.

That's nice.

We don't need them, Vitaly Milonov, an MP from the ruling party, United Russia, via BBC News.

LGBTQ advocates in Russia fear that the new ruling will result in mass arrests and prosecutions.

This is real repression.

There is panic in Russia's LGBT community.

People are emigrating urgently.

The actual word we're using is evacuation.

We're having to evacuate from our own country.

It's terrible.

Bangladesh Violent Protest: Supreme Court Scales Back Job Quota That Sparked Deadly Violence

Bangladesh’s Supreme Court has ordered a significant reduction in the country’s controversial quota system for government jobs, following nationwide protests and violent clashes that have resulted in numerous casualties. The new ruling stipulates that 93% of government jobs will now be allocated based on merit, with the remaining 7% reserved for relatives of veterans from Bangladesh’s 1971 war of independence and other specific categories. Previously, 30% of these jobs were reserved for war veterans' relatives. #BangladeshProtests #StudentUnrest #DhakaLockdown #QuotaReform #BangladeshProtestsLIVE #BangladeshProtestsViolent #BangladeshJobQuota #BangladeshSupremeCourt #SheikhHasina #BangladeshProtestNews #BangladeshNews ~HT.97~PR.152~ED.194~

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lambasted Anti-Israel protesters during his Wednesday address to Congress. As thousands demonstrated in Washington, D.C., with some becoming violent, Netanyahu criticized the "Gays for Gaza" slogan used by certain protesters, calling it oxymoronic. He likened it to saying "Chickens for KFC," arguing it made no sense given the treatment of LGBTQ individuals in Gaza. This Day in History: , The Stonewall Riots Begin. June 28, 1969. The riots are considered the first major protest of the LGBTQ community for equal rights. They began after midnight at the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street in Greenwich Village. Police raided the popular gay club for operating without a liquor license. After decades of being targeted by the NYPD, the patrons began to fight back by throwing bottles at police. Several days of protests followed, mobilizing into the Gay Liberation Front and other gay civil rights organizations. The NYPD made a formal apology for its role in the riots — and for the laws that led to them — in 2019

Russia Calls U.S An ‘Enemy State’, Months After ‘No-Anti American Sentiment’ Comment

In a recent address to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov referred to the United States as an “enemy,” signalling a potential hardening of Moscow's rhetoric. While it remains uncertain if this language reflects an official change in policy, Peskov emphasised that only President Vladimir Putin can make such determinations. The Kremlin spokesman's comments were partly in response to Washington's refusal to allow former US Marine, UN weapons inspector, and RT contributor Scott Ritter to travel to St. Petersburg. Peskov described this as “the latest manifestation of the rabid campaign to prevent US citizens from interacting with the Russian Federation.” He suggested that such a refusal would only be “understandable” if it were related to Ritter's former intelligence status. “We are now an enemy country for them – much like they are for us” Peskov stated, noting that travel restrictions on former intelligence officers to hostile countries are common worldwide. #Russia #USA #EnemyState #DmitryPeskov #USRussiaRelations #Geopolitics #InternationalRelations #Kremlin #ForeignPolicy #Putin #USPolitics #AntiAmericanSentiment #GlobalPolitics #Diplomacy #WorldNews ~PR.152~ED.103~
