Richard Dreyfuss is facing major backlash over sexist and homophobic comments the actor made over Memorial Day weekend. A Massachusetts theater hosted the 'Jaws' star for a conversation and screening of the classic Steven Spielberg action blockbuster. According to social media posts from those in attendance, people hoping for amusing or insightful anecdotes from the actor had to instead sit through the Oscar winner going on a free-form rant that included his bigoted perspective on trans youth, the Academy Awards' inclusion rules and then on to trans kids affirming their gender.

Jimmy Kimmel's 7-year-old son Billy just had his third (and hopefully last) open heart surgery. The ABC late-night host shared that Billy had the operation over Memorial Day weekend. Kimmel shared this photo of his son on Instagram and wrote, "We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and nearly as much fear and came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy kid."

Middle-Aged Americans Are, Underprepared for Retirement, , Study Finds.
'Newsweek' reports that people in the United States
who are approaching retirement age may be critically
underprepared when it comes to their savings.
According to Prudential Investments, Americans around
the age of 55 are facing a "midlife retirement crisis,"
lacking the funds for a comfortable post-working life. .
A recent survey by the major insurance
provider found the average retirement
savings of a 55-year-old to be $47,950. .
This falls significantly short of the recommended
goal of having eight times a person's annual
income saved by the time they reach 55. .
According to the survey, 57% of 55-year-olds
said they expected to outlive the funds
they have currently managed to save.
That's compared to 59%
of 65-year-olds and
52% of 75-year-olds.
The survey also found that one-third of 55-year-olds
and 43% of 65-year-olds have already been forced
to postpone retirement due to inflation.
Attention today is rightly centered on
the approximately 11,000 65-year-olds
entering retirement every week, but we
must also focus as an industry on the
opportunity to help a slightly younger
generation of workers entering the
critical 10-year countdown to retirement, Caroline Feeney, executive vice president and head
of Prudential's U.S. Businesses, via 'Newsweek'.
Further, the financial futures
of certain cohorts—such as
women—are especially precarious, Caroline Feeney, executive vice president and head
of Prudential's U.S. Businesses, via 'Newsweek'.
The upside is that, with the right
planning and strategy to protect
their life's work, we can ensure
this generation is well-prepared
to live not only longer, but better, Caroline Feeney, executive vice president and head
of Prudential's U.S. Businesses, via 'Newsweek'

Pro-Palestinian activists released maggots and other insects at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., where Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was staying during his controversial U.S. visit. The incident, claimed by the Palestinian Youth Movement, was a protest against Israel's actions in Gaza. It coincided with Netanyahu's address to Congress and large demonstrations nearby. The hotel confirmed the event, stating it has been sanitized. This unusual protest underscores the heightened tensions surrounding Netanyahu's visit and the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has dismissed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vision for a “future” Gaza Strip, excluding the resistance group from governance, as mere “delusions.” The remarks came in a statement from Hamas on Wednesday, following Netanyahu's speech to the US Congress. In his address, Netanyahu outlined a self-proclaimed vision for Gaza, claiming the Israeli regime aimed to “eliminate” Hamas through an ongoing military campaign. This conflict, which began on October 7, has resulted in the deaths of at least 39,670 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, without achieving the stated goal of defeating the resistance.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lambasted Anti-Israel protesters during his Wednesday address to Congress. As thousands demonstrated in Washington, D.C., with some becoming violent, Netanyahu criticized the "Gays for Gaza" slogan used by certain protesters, calling it oxymoronic. He likened it to saying "Chickens for KFC," arguing it made no sense given the treatment of LGBTQ individuals in Gaza. Capitol Police had to use pepper spray to control the crowd.
