Anneliese Dodds has resigned as international development minister over the decision to cut overseas aid to fund a boost to defence spending. Deputy prime minister Angela Rayner reacted as the news broke on Friday, saying she is "really sorry" to hear the news of the resignation. "It is a really difficult decision that was made but it was absolutely right that the prime minister and the cabinet endorse the prime minister's actions to spend more money on defence," she added. A thief who murdered an Amazon delivery driver has been jailed for a minimum term of 30 years at Leeds Crown Court. Claudiu Carol Kondor was delivering parcels in Leeds last year when Mark Ross tried to steal his van, a court heard. Mr Kondor clung onto the vehicle as the defendant hit speeds of up to 60mph before hitting two parked cars. Mr Kondor died from head and chest injuries from the collision, the court heard.
