Netanyahu Ousts Shin Bet Chief Over ‘Qatargate’ Probe | Bar Accuses PM of Sabotage
Israel’s cabinet has unanimously voted to dismiss Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar after Prime Minister Netanyahu claimed a loss of trust in him.
Netanyahu criticized Bar’s security approach, while Bar accused Netanyahu of sabotaging peace talks and trying to undermine the ongoing "Qatargate" investigation.
Thousands protested the dismissal, which the Attorney General condemned as illegal.
Critics argue Netanyahu is attempting to replace Bar with a loyalist to control the security agency during a political crisis.
The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated Musbah Dayyah, the fourth Mujahideen Brigades leader killed in recent months, in a Gaza operation in Nuseirat. Dayyah, a key figure in the October 7 massacre, orchestrated terror attacks, recruited operatives in the West Bank, and targeted IDF forces. The Mujahideen were responsible for kidnapping andmurdering Shiri Bibas and her children, Ariel and Kfir. This strike significantly disrupts the group’s terror operations across Gaza, Judea, and Samaria.
