Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was among the 242 passengers on board Air India flight I71, which crashed minutes after takeoff from Ahmedabad en route to London on June 12, 2025.

Rupani, who served as CM from 2016 to 2021, was a prominent BJP leader and close aide of Amit Shah.
