When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Arthur Arnold felt he had no choice but to quit his job as music director for the prestigious Moscow Symphony Orchestra. Itβs given him more time for his work in what might seem like an unlikely location: Powell River, B.C., once a thriving paper-mill town, where residents hope arts and culture could be the future.
